Young Leaders of Northeast Indiana (“YLNI”) understands the importance of your privacy. This

Privacy Notice applies when you visit our website at ylni.org (the “Website”), interact with us on

or offline, or use any and all of our products and services including our membership database

(collectively, our “Services”). Our Privacy Notice describes our collection of information during

your interactions with our Services, and the rights and choices you have regarding your

information.


By using our Services, you agree with the terms of this Privacy Notice.

1. Information Collection

When operating our Services, YLNI collects data, including Personal Data about you. The types of

information we collect depends on your level of engagement with the Services. “Personal Data”

means information that can reasonably be linked to a particular individual.


Sources of Information Collection. We collect information from a variety of sources, including

directly from you and your interactions with our Services. We may also obtain information about

you from other sources, including through third-party services.


The information we collect includes:


Identifiers. We collect identifiers when you interact with our Services through visiting our

website, creating and using an account, using our database, or otherwise voluntarily providing it

to us. This includes:

  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Email
  • Birth date (optional)

Communications Information. We collect information within messages we exchange when you communicate with us or other members. This includes:

  • Information in support requests
  • Questions and feedback
  • Survey responses

beacons which automatically collect users’ browsing information when they use our website. You

will find other parties’ trackers on our website. Other parties like our analytics and advertising

partners place code with cookies or web beacons embedded in them. These are called third-party

  • Manage Our Organization and Provide Our Services. YLNI uses information and Personal Data to maintain user accounts, manage our online member database, provide Services, Facilitate usage of the Services, and complete necessary tasks to manage our business and provide our Services.
  • Host Events and Programming. YLNI uses information to host events including the Farmer’s Market, round tables. Monthly hot-spots, and other events.
  • Manage Job Applicants and Employment Opportunities. YLNI uses information and Personal Data to process and review job applications.
  • Manage Volunteers. YLNI uses information and Personal Data to coordinate volunteers, staff committees, elect board positions, schedule volunteer shifts, and provide additional volunteering opportunities.
  • Facilitate Purchases and Donations. YLNI uses information and Personal Data to provide customers with information about donations, or other requested material, and to process payments and donations.
  • Conduct Research and Improve Our Organization. YLNI uses information and Personal Data to conduct research, such as questionnaires and surveys, and to analyze and enhance our marketing communication strategies.
  • Communicate. YLNI uses information and Personal Data to communicate important information, including delivering notices to you about the use of our Services and other organizational updates, and providing our newsletter.
  • Protect Our Organization. YLNI uses information and Personal Data to protect against fraud, unauthorized transactions, and other liabilities, and to secure our services by identifying potential hackers and unauthorized users.
  • Ensure Security and Efficiency and to Comply with the Law. We may use information and Personal Data for other purposes with your consent or where permitted by law, for example to comply with applicable legal requirements, court orders, legal proceedings, document requests, industry standards, and our internal policies.

  • You Consent. YLNI will not disclose your information and Personal Data to others without your consent, except as specified in this Privacy Notice.
  • YLNI Members. When using the online membership platform, other members will be able to see the information you voluntarily enter into the platform.
  • Our Service Providers and Vendors. We transfer all or portions of your information and Personal Data to our service providers who help us deliver our products and services to you and for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice. These service providers are required by contract or law to only use or disclose the information as necessary to perform services on our behalf or as otherwise required by law.
  • For a Change in Organizational Structure. Information and Personal Data we have collected may be disclosed to a third party in the event of a merger, reorganization, re-classification, or other structural change event.
  • Legally Permitted or Required to do so. YLNI may disclose without your prior consent any data or Personal Data about you or your use of our services, if we believe disclosure is necessary or required by law.
  • Legitimate Interests. YLNI may disclose without your prior consent any information about you or your use of our website, if we believe disclosure is necessary, including to:
    • Protect and defend the rights, property, or safety of YLNI, employees, other users of the website, or the public;

    • Respond to claims that any content violates the rights of third parties;
    • Correspond with law enforcement agencies, if we are required to do so; and

YLNI gives you options to access, edit, or remove certain information, as well as choices about

how we contact you.


Request Correction of Information
. If you believe YLNI has inaccurate or outdated information

about you, you may request it is corrected or update the information through our online

platform.


Deletion of Information or Account.
You may request that your account be deleted and that we

remove your information from our systems.


Messaging and Newsletter Communications.
You may control how you receive certain types of

communications by unsubscribing within the body of the communication. Note that some

messages are required, service-related messages such as transaction confirmation messages,

legal notices, or updates.


Do Not Track Signals.
CalOPPA requires us to let you know how we respond to web browser Do

Not Track (“DNT”) signals. DNT is a privacy preference you can set in your web browser to indicate

that you do not want certain information about your webpage visits collected across websites

when you have not interacted with that service on the page. For details, including how to turn

on DNT, see here. Because there currently isn’t an industry or legal standard recognizing or

honoring DNT signals, we don’t respond to them at this time.


Consumer Data Protection Law Rights. As a non-profit targeting individuals in Northeast Indiana,

YLNI is not subject to current state consumer data protection laws. However, YLNI understands

the importance of user privacy and takes efforts designed to protect your information and

V. Third Party Websites

This Privacy Notice applies only to YLNI Services. Our Servicesmay contain links to other websites

including those that permit online transactions. We have no control over the privacy practices or

the content of any of our business partners, advertisers, sponsors, or other third parties we link

to from our website. YLNI does not endorse, approve, or certify these other websites, and we do

not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, efficacy, or timeliness of the information contained

VI. Information Retention

YLNI uses several criteria to determine how long we should keep categories of Personal Data. We

will retain your Personal Data for the time period reasonably necessary to achieve the business

purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice to the extent permitted by applicable law.


Please understand that residual copies of the Personal Data can be stored in locations or formats

that make complete erasure extremely difficult. The best way to ensure you control your

information is to give us only the Personal Data that you are completely comfortable sharing with

us.

YLNI takes reasonable steps to secure your Personal Data. We maintain physical, electronic, and

procedural safeguards to ensure that Personal Data is stored and processed responsibly. However, no internet transmission is ever fully secure, and we cannot guarantee that information

transmitted via our website will remain confidential at all times.

YLNI takes children’s privacy seriously. By accepting the Privacy Notice through your use of our

services, you certify that you are at least 18 years of age or submitting Personal Data to us with

the consent of a parent or guardian. If we find that a minor has submitted any information to us

without parental consent, we will delete it immediately upon discovery.
